Christmas #1

Christmas number one was over at my mom's house. We sure had some fun getting together and celebrating Jake's first Christmas.

4 Month Update

It is so hard to believe that is has already been 4 months since Jake has come into the world and changed our lives. Yesterday we went to the dr for his checkup and immunizations (boo!). Jake weighed in at 16lbs and is 25 1/2 inches long. That puts him in the 75th percentile for height and weight. GO BIG BOY!

Since this blog is my attempt at a "scrapbook" here are some things I want to remember about Jake.

1) And obviously the most important, I am his FAVORITE person in the world. I am not kidding. Sean is a close second but I should be his favorite. I got fat for him :)

2) He loves to smile.

3) He loves to look in the mirror. It CRACKS him up. I read that at this point they really are not aware that it is them in the mirror. But from the way he stares and smiles and laughs he sure thinks that is one GOOD LOOKING baby in the mirror.

4) He loves his babyschool teachers. I love them too. They make it so easy for me to leave him so I can work.

5) He is a DROOLING machine right now. Still no teeth but he will drool all over himself.

6) He loves to put anything in his mouth. A habit I am sure he'll continue with as he gets his teeth.

7) Speaking of putting things in his mouth he also LOVES to take things OUT of his mouth. Specifically his pacifier...

8) He likes to hold his bottle. He can't feed it to himself quite yet but the stepping stones are being laid.

9) He is almost rolling over. He gets about 3/4ths of the way and then can't seal the deal, remember, he is 16lbs! He can roll from his tummy to his back no problem. I think it'll happen for him anyday which is a good thing cause he is getting a flat head! Dr says we need to keep him off his back more or Jake will have to get a helmut... I think once he is sitting up it'll round out.

10) He loves his puppy and thank God Olive loves him!!

11) He "talks" ALL the time. Mimi and Grandmommy think he is so smart and Mimi swears he'll be talking in no time!

12) Jake will have a sibling one day. He sleeps from 8:30pm - 7:30am, nuff said!

13) He loves to be read to. Every nights Sean gives Jake a bath, feeds him, and reads him a story. It's really sweet to hear on the monitor. Brings a tears to my eyes

Speaking of tears to my eyes. I never could have imagined how sentimental this boy could make me. I still get teary eyed when I look back at pictures, especially from his birth. I cannot imagine our lives with out him.

Happy 4 month birthday baby boy I love you more than you'll ever know!

Catching Up!

We sure have been busy lately! Here is a little bit of what we've been up to. There have been alot of "firsts" for Jake.

First time in the stroller on a jog with dad.

First bath in the bath tub. Mom was not a fan of this, it hurt her back...

First bath in the bathing chair. We think he is still a wee bit small for this so we are going back to the bathing tub in the sink for a little while longer. But it was fun to try!

He LOVES other babies!!

Not a first but just Jake being cute. I swear he is a very smiley baby. It's just everytime we get the camera out he becomes so enthralled with the camera he forgets to smile. I'm pretty sure he wants me to give it to him so he can drool all over it!
